So instead of “Tipsy Tuesday” today my life is a bit more like “Travel Tuesday.” I am running around like a crazy person trying to finish Etsy orders and things for my clients, all while packing for our two week trip. I’ve never packed for two weeks before!

{found in the adorable Etsy shop rouilly}

So here’s my list of random things I’m worried I’ll forget – do you have any suggestions to add to help me out? :-)

  • Sunglasses.  So darn important.
  • First Aid stuff.  There is nothing more annoying than needing a Band Aid or an aspirin and having to spend $42 or whatever on it in an airport.
  • Cash.  Of course, never travel without a decent amount of cash.
  • Passport.  Yeah, going to need that for sure!
  • A good book.  I think I’ve settled on reading “Gone with the Wind” while we’re away.
  • Ipad & CHARGER!  It’s perfect – music, movies, entertainment, all in one.  But also no good when it’s dead.
  • Travel journal / sketchbook.  I can’t wait to draw and doodle and come up with all sorts of inspiration.
  • Business Cards.  Ha, what can I say, I’m an entrepreneur at heart….you never know who you might run into!
  • Glasses.  Also very important when you’re blind like I am.
  • Vitamins.  Got to stay healthy!

And now I don’t remember what else to put on the list lol.

What are your must haves when you travel?

    Have a fantastic time! :)

My number one thing to pack is an adaptor for your camera and phone chargers!

I think good walking shoes are also so handy to have and one pair of dressy ones for evenings in fancy restaurants. But as long as you have your passport you can pick up almost anything else you need in Europe.

you'll need an adapter for those plug-in's!! You don't want the trip to turn into a scene from Just Married..it would late make for an ironic blog post, but terribly inconvenient for you guys during the trip!

    • Sarah

Oh such a good point! See, how did I forget to put that on my list? Thanks for the reminder!

Be sure to bring your camera and/or phone to take pictures! And a charger for each. :)

    • Sarah

Yes ma'am! Thanks for the reminder! Hoping to have lots of fun picturees to share :-)

I always make and/or buy some healthy snacks for the plane/car ride, and they usually end up being great for those day trips when you just need a little pick up, without spending a ton of money.

    • Sarah

So true, we got some packaged snacks that I'm hoping customs will let me keep. We'll find out!

  • tiffanylanehandmade

Oh, good point about customs! Didn't think of that. At least you could eat them on the plane ride over, though.

You are fine through customs so long as there's no meat or dairy (chocolate is fine), illegal substances or living plants or seeds.

I always like to reassure myself that, so long as I have my passport and my wallet, anything I have forgotten can be bought. There are a few exceptions to that – driver's license, glasses and prescription medication are the ones I can think of right now.

With electrical items be aware that, even with adapters, if the voltage is different some things won't work and you will have taken up space in your suitcase for no reason. Hairdryers and motorised items could even blow up given double the voltage they are used to! Ipads and phones should all be fine though, they will probably say their voltage range on the plug so you can check.

Starting to feel like mum now, sorry if this is really patronising :S Have a great trip, I'm very jealous – Venice is one of my top places to visit!

I'm so jealous Sarah! I want to be packing as well, but we're not leaving until the 12th of December! I always remember to take Baby Wipes. They were very handy in India, and now I make sure I pack them on all my trips, even interstate, short trips. I also keep Band Aid in my wallet, usually either Patrick or I need up needing them! Oh and tissues :) So exciting!

Oh how exciting, you are going to have an AMAZING trip I am sure! I wrote a loooong post about packing on my blog a month or so ago – my top tip is that as long as you have your passport, mobile and wallet you'll be fine :)
